The seminar titled "The Emergency of an International Movement: Humanitarian Volunteerism in 1971" was organized by the initiative of the Criminology Department of Dhaka University. It took place on July 24, 2023, at the Mozaffar Ahmed Choudhury Hall. During the seminar, Professor Julian Francis presented the keynote article. The event was presided over by Chairperson Shaharia Afrin of the Criminology Department, and the chief discussant was Dr. Jia Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences. In this seminar, the focus was on discussing the emergence of an international movement with humanitarian volunteerism in the context of 1971.
