The inaugural event of DUCCS

On September 21, 2023, the DU Criminology Cultural Society (DUCCS), established under the patronage of the Criminology Department at Dhaka University, organized a special film screening for the students. In the Lecture Theatre building on the second floor of Dhaka University's Faculty of Arts, with the title "Zodiak," this film was showcased. The film delves into the world of crime investigation and discusses the twisted psychology of a notorious serial killer. "Zodiak" is an intriguing crime thriller directed by David Fincher, based on the real story of the Zodiac Killer, a mysterious and elusive serial killer who terrorized San Francisco in the late 1960s and the early 1970s. This gripping story was created based on the research and investigations conducted by a dedicated team of detectives and journalists who were determined to unmask the killer and bring him to justice. The movie portrays the complexity of criminal profiling, forensic analysis, and the relentless pursuit of truth in the darkness. At the end of the film screening, DUCCS, in collaboration with a panel of esteemed educators from the Criminology Department, organized a quiz for the students and provided an opportunity to engage in a meaningful discussion on criminal behavior and profiling. These proactive students appreciated such an extraordinary initiative and expressed their interest in gaining more thrilling experiences like this in the future.
